After our quick trip to Hinulugang Taktak, we headed to Tipulo for our lunch. Tipulo is inside the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo. If you worked in Corporate in the last decade, you may be familiar with MMLDC, its old name.
Tipulo provides an al fresco dining experience. The restaurant is surrounded by tall trees and landscaped gardens providing guests a relaxed vibe when they dine in. It is especially cool here during the “ber” months to February.
Tipulo got its name from the Tipulo tree which is said to be a symbol of Antipolo’s deep faith and spirituality.
The restaurant is furnished with filipiniana inspired tables and chairs. Tipulo serves ala carte Filipino dishes daily and buffet every Sunday. The ala carte serving size is good for sharing. The place is perfect for family gatherings and get-togethers as the place can fit at least 50 people.
It is kid-friendly too with high chairs available. This is a plus for me.
On Sundays, they offer buffet for P 585 only. During our visit, we availed of the buffet instead of ordering ala carte.
Their buffet has a complete offering of salads, soup, main courses (pork, seafood, vegetables), and dessert. A selection of drinks is also included in the buffet.
My favorites were the pork sisig, sweet and sour pork and the breaded fish with mussels and squid. I found the food comforting and filling.
After a hearty lunch, guests can roam around the First Pacific Leadership Academy. Here are some of our pictures around the area.
Tips when dining in Tipulo
- Buffet is only on Sundays so consider that when visiting.
- They have acoustic nights on Saturdays.
- The place gets full on weekends so reserve especially when visiting with a big group.
- Since the place is surrounded by trees and plants, make sure to put on bug spray to keep the bugs away.
- Bring a light sweater especially if you will be dining at night.
