A family tree gives toddlers and preschoolers an excellent visual representation of their family. It is a great activity to introduce kids to their family members and lineage. If a family member has already passed on, it is one way to honor and remember them.
A few weeks ago, I prepared the Family Tree activity for my daughter. Initially, I only prepared a simple and straight forward Family Tree for her to complete, but my daughter had a special request.
Here are some snaps of her completing the activity.
If you want to do this at home, prepare the following materials:
- Printed Family Tree – I had pre-made three sets of printable because I recognize some families may have more children. 😊
- Printed pictures of each of the family member
- Glue
While doing the activity, she asked where her cousins where so eventually, I prepared another set with all our extended family in it.

If you wish to make your own, you can use the blank Family Tree in the printable file so that you can customize the tree according to your family structure.
